World Indoor Rowing Championships

Rob Buckley has won a bronze at the World Indoor Rowing Championships in Boston, USA. The veteran rower who scooped gold at the British Indoor Rowing Championships last November was one of 80 British competitors at the Worlds. The event had attracted over 2,000 competitors from as far afield as New Zealand, Japan and South Africa.
The British rowers brought home a good haul of 25 medals. Rob’s bronze was for the men’s lightweight 50-54 age group. He rowed the 2km in 6.49.4 minutes, just a shade behind another Brit in silver medal position who rowed 6.48.5. If he had rowed the time he did at the British Indoor Rowing Championships (6.48.4) he would have been higher up the medal table - maybe next year?!
