Lifters Impress Top Man

Junior novice members of the weight-lifting section at Evesham Rowing Club showed their talent in their first competitive event.

Colleen and Abi Penrose, Sophie McDonagh and Tash Symonds were in action at the Harry Mitchell Sports Centre in Whalley from where they all returned home with certificates of achievement.

The quarter successfuly completed snatch and clean and jerk lifts to earn their rewards that were won in front of Steve Cannon, head of British Weightlifting.

Several of the girls, who along with other club members will be in action again in December, will use the experience towards their PE GCSE work at school.
