DURING Evesham’s River Boat Festival, Evesham Rowing Club played host
to the annual ‘Golden Mile’ - an event which attracts competitors from
across the globe.
Raced on Concept Two indoor rowers, each participant races over 1,609m
- one mile - or in the cases of younger juniors they race for a set time,

Evesham Rowing Club is celebrating after its womens’ junior 16 coxless quad won one of the most prestigious events in the rowing calendar. The National Junior Scullers Head of the River held at Henley-on-Thames, attracts hundreds of crews from all over the country, including the top rowing schools such as Lady Eleanor Holles and Dame Alice Harpur. Several rowing crews saw success at Northampton’s Head of the Nene (26th January). While the sun shone, conditions on the water were challenging with a strong head wind that proved tricky for steering over the 1,800 metre course. (read more…)
