The new Karndean floor is now being laid. This means that the Function room is off limits until the work is complete. The room will not be available until the evening of Friday 18th April. A reduced Bar service will be available from the kitchen - with limited seating in the Sun Lounge.
In the case of emergency the relevant fire exits should still be used.

Members of Evesham Rowing Club have begun cleaning up after their boathouse was completely flooded by the swollen River Avon ten days ago. The club, which also has squash and tennis facilities, has been significantly damaged. At the time the disaster struck it was in the very final stages of a 2-year, £500,000 lottery-funded redevelopment. (read more…)

Re-Opening Speech - Saturday 9th September 2006
Evesham Boat Club was formally established in the summer of 1863, with sixteen active oarsmen and eight non-rowing members. Edward Charles Rudge, the Squire of Evesham, was elected President, and became a lifetime benefactor of the Club. The members included three Reverend gentlemen who took their due place in mid-Victorian Society and in Rowing in particular. The boats and equipment were housed in timber boathouses leased from mine-host at “The Fleece Inn” on the banks of the River Avon and the sport was strictly for “gentlemen” under the rules of the Amateur Rowing Association. The Club grew steadily and was around the thirty-third Provincial Rowing Club to be formed, with local rivals at Tewkesbury, Gloucester and Hereford having been founded several years beforehand and many others that followed. The first Regatta was held in 1864 and was contested between the Clubs from Evesham and Tewkesbury. Transport was developing and the extended railway system gave scope for the movement of boats and oarsmen, transforming the genteel sport to one of fierce competition, using heavy boats rowed over long courses, with fixed seats and rowlocks. Evesham Rowing Club is putting the final touches to its new clubhouse as months of building work comes to a successful end.
The inside has been transformed during the winter into a top level sports facility with gym, weights room, new changing facilities and a fabulous function room overlooking the River Avon. (read more…)

A Wychavon District Council grant of £32,500 has been handed over to Evesham Rowing Club, marking the next stage in the £500,000-plus redevelopment at the club, which started two months ago. (read more…)

Work is about to start on a half million pound-plus development at Evesham Rowing Club. The first stage of the project is due to be completed by next April in time for the club’s biggest event of the year: Evesham Regatta. (read more…)
